Hi All.
Some interesting info on this site for all of us who fish both on the Vaal dam as well as on the river. Some serious flows going on and the levels are extremely high at the moment. Unfortunately for all us flyfishermen, it makes things a little tough and, well, dangerous too so heads up to all!!

Fri, 2010-01-29 01:46 — MellowYellowjust an interesting point for those who dont really want to sift through all the inane data on the site to get to the reall info on flows, heres a quick idea how things have picked up in a 2 week period.
On the 15th Jan 2010 the flow rate from the dam was 12.931 m^3/s
On the 29th Jan 2010 the flow rate from the dam was 1877.375 m^3/s
An increase of 1665 m^3/s is a monster. To put it another way, if you were thinking of getting some fishing in, go play golf instead.
